Job description:
A post-doctoral position (40 hours/week, fixed-term for 6 years) is available at the Institute of Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Faculty of Psychology. The position is assigned to the area of "Developmental Psychology" (Head Prof. Dr. Stefanie Höhl), which is primarily concerned with social-cognitive development in early childhood. Among other things, we investigate the development of joint attention, social learning (e.g. imitation) and the development of action understanding and facial perception. One methodological focus is on experimental and neuroscientific research approaches (e.g. eye tracking, EEG, fNIRS).
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You build up an independent research profile in the field of Developmental Psychology.
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the field of Developmental Psychology.
- You publish internationally and give lectures.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You supervise your students at the research unit.
- You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in the field of psychology
- Outstanding dissertation
- Proven research competence & initiative through international publications in peer-relevant media
- Experience in research management and leading project staff
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Skills in experimental work with babies
- Programming skills (Matlab)
- Advanced knowledge of statistics (R)
- Experience with multiverse analysis and open science practices
- Experience in the measurement and evaluation of eye tracking data is desirable
- Experience with physiological data (ECG, respiratory data), including data acquisition using state-of-the-art experimental paradigms
- Excellent English language skills
- Teamwork and communication skills
