Your personal sphere of influence:

The advertised position is at the Department of Education at the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The department's primary responsibilities include teaching and research in education. Specifically, the position is assigned to the Chair of Empirical Educational Research and Theory of Education (Univ. Prof. Dr. Henning Schluß), which is dedicated to analyzing and further developing this relationship. To this end, various research projects are being conducted within the department and in cooperation with partners. In particular, this position involves a collaborative project with the DIPF on video recordings of school lessons from the GDR, the Federal Republic of Germany, and, in the future, from Austria.

Your future tasks:

Participation in research, teaching and administration:

• Participation in research projects / research studies
• Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations
• We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months.
• Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement 
• Supervision of students
• Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums
• Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
• Participation in an ongoing research project on video recordings of lessons is expected. A doctoral degree in a related field is desirable.

This is part of your personality:

• Completed a master's or diploma degree in education
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Knowledge of database programs and video editing software
• Experience in archival work and experience working with contemporary witnesses
• High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing 
• Excellent command of written and spoken German 
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• IT user skills
• Ability to work in a team

Desirable qualifications are 

• Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
• Knowledge of university processes and structures
• Experience abroad
• Basic experience in research methods and academic writing

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3,714,80 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience.

Employment model: The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
