Your personal sphere of influence:
The advertised position is located in the Department of Education of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The Department's main responsibilities lie within the area of teaching and research in the field of Education. The research is centered on the description, critical analysis, and scientific explanation of phenomena of education. Your subject area will include the education and training processes in specially created social institutions (such as schools), as well as the educational and socialization processes in non-pedagogically institutionalized fields of social life (peer groups, milieus, media, etc.). The advertised position belongs to the professorship "Education and Inequality" (direction: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Veronika Wöhrer)
Your future tasks:
Participation in research, teaching and administration:
- Participation in research projects / research studies
- Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations
- We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months.
- Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- Supervision of students
- Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums
- Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
This is part of your personality:
- MA in education or a social science
- Experience in researching gender and / or migration in the context of education
- Knowledge of intersectionality research
- Experience in qualitative research
- High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
- Excellent command of written and spoken German
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- IT user skills
- Ability to work in a team
Desirable qualifications are
- Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
- Knowledge of university processes and structures
- Experience abroad
- Basic experience in research methods and academic writing
