Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant Praedoc, you will join the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ernst Karner, consisting of two Prae Docs, two Study Assistants and one administrative colleague. You will be actively participating in teaching as well as in research and publication projects. Our focus is on civil law.

 

The period of employment is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a non-extension declaration within the first 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

 

  • Participation in research projects
  • Participation in publications / scientific articles / lectures
  • Participation in and independent teaching of courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Student support
  • Participation in the organization of meetings, conferences and symposia
  • Participation in administration of the team, teaching, and research
  • Completion of your dissertation agreement within 12 - 18 month is expected.
  • Own scientific activities (especially the writing of a dissertation) are encouraged and supported.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed diploma studies in law or master´s degree in law (with specialization in civil law, if applicable)
  • Above-average academic performance, especially in civil law and other subjects of private law
  • IT skills (e.g. MS Office, various databases)
  • Excellent knowledge of German and good written and spoken English
  • You are a team player with high social/communication skills.
  • Interest in scientific work

 

Ideally, you have:

  • Teaching experience
  • Experience in scientific work
  • Familiarity with university procedures and structures
  • Experience in the field of event organization
