Your personal sphere of influence:
The team around Dr. Katharina Pallitsch at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna is seeking a PhD candidate with research experience in organic chemistry and stereoselective synthesis for temporary employment for a period of 26,5 months. The position is limited to the duration of an employee’s part-time parental leave.
Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You will be involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of organophosphorus chemistry. Special emphasis will be on the development of new synthetic strategies to access stereoselectively deuterated phosphonates and chiral α-aminophosphonic acids.
- We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You will work on your dissertation and its completion.
- You will hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed Master's degree or Diploma in chemistry with profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of organic synthesis (planning and conducting chemical syntheses)
- Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods
- Teaching skills/experience with e-learning
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and German
- IT user skills: MSOffice, ChemOffice, TopSpin
- You should be a team player with good social skills
