Your future position will be in the Security & Privacy research group at the Faculty of Computer Science. Researchers appreciate the internationality, the outstanding research projects, the interdisciplinary cooperation and the collegial exchange in our faculty.
Our current research focuses on industrial plant security, digital twins, synthetic data for machine learning in privacy research, formalisation of security risk management and security and privacy of blockchain technologies. In the long term, we focus on understanding complex systems in order to recognise fundamental security and privacy problems and on researching and developing solutions that go beyond mere short-term problem solving.

Our team currently consists of 29 scientific and 2 administrative colleagues. We attach particular importance to relaxed and respectful cooperation, a collegial atmosphere and an independent way of working. Duration of contract: The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will work at the Faculty of Computer Science, in the Security and Privacy research group.
  • You will establish and develop an independent research profile.
  • You will be involved in research projects / scientific studies.
  • You will contribute to publications.
  • You will work on and complete your dissertation.
  • You will teach courses independently in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
  • You will supervise students.
  • You will be involved in evaluation measures and quality assurance.

This is part of your personality:

Must-have criteria:

  • Completed Master's degree in the field of computer science
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Didactic competences / experience in e-learning
  • Experience in working with research groups / ability to work in a team
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Interest in interdisciplinary topics

 

Desirable skills:

  • Publications in renowned, specialised media (peer-reviewed according to professional standards)
  • Basic knowledge in the field of information security and automation
  • Interest in working in research in the field of cyber security for industrial control systems
  • Programming skills (preferably Java, Rust, C/C++, or Python)
  • Experience in network security and large scale network measurements
  • Experience in security and privacy in mobile and cellular networks
  • Experience in reverse engineering on mobile platforms
