The Department of Islamic-Theological Studies is looking for a University Assistant Praedoc in the discipline of Islamic Religious Education. We are a young team and offer a pleasant working atmosphere, diverse tasks and good opportunities for further training.

Your personal sphere of influence:

Your future workplace will be at the Department of Islamic Theological Studies in Islamic Religious Education. In addition to independent research and the development of research projects in the core disciplines of Islamic religious education, you will be responsible for teaching in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes at the Department.

The position comprises 30 hours. The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You will develop an independent research profile in the core areas of Islamic religious education.
• You will be involved in research projects and academic studies in the field of Islamic Theological Studies.
• You will publish internationally and give lectures.
• You will apply for projects and acquire third-party funding.
• You will prepare and complete a dissertation ready for publication.
• You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
• You will supervise your students.
• You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality:

• Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field Islamic Religious Education or a comparable discipline
• Willingness and ability to engage in interdisciplinary and international discourse
• Didactic competences / experience in student supervision
• Good IT skills
• Excellent knowledge of English (C1) / very good knowledge of Arabic (B2) / Turkish, Persian or knowledge of another traditional Islamic theological language an advantage
• High level of written and oral communication skills
• You should be a team player with high social skills
• Ability to take criticism, resilience and commitment
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of university processes and structures
