Your personal sphere of play:
Your future position is at the Institute of Art History in the team of the Chair of Modern Art History (Prof. Dr. Sebastian Egenhofer). This is characterized by excellent research in the history of modern and contemporary art. The Institute is part of the Faculty of History and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna.
Academic staff and students of art history appreciate the Institute's professional diversity, internationally integrated research projects and collegial exchange.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You pursue your own independent research and publication activities,
- participate in the projects of the professorship.
- You hold independent lectures to the extent of the collective agreement provisions.
- You will be involved in evaluation measures and quality assurance and
- take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in the field of modern art history.
- Outstanding dissertation.
- Teaching skills and substantial teaching experience at BA and MA level.
- Proven profile in the art history of Europe and North America in a global context through international publications in peer-relevant media.
- A focus on 20th and 21st century art and exhibition history, especially since the 1960s, would be desirable.
Further requirements:
- Excellent command of English and knowledge of at least one other foreign language.
- Team player with high social/communication skills
