Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position is at the unit for Finno-Ugric Studies, part of the Department of European and Comparative Literature and Language Studies, characterized by a broad range of research interests within Finno-Ugric studies in the wide sense of the word and by intensive international networking.

The department is part of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies. We appreciate our diversity of research topics, internationality, interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange between colleagues. 

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You build up an independent research profile in the field of Finno-Ugric studies (also outside the fields of Hungarian or Finnish studies).
  • You are involved in research projects.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
  • You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
  • You hold courses (also about Finno-Ugric minority languages) independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality: 

•    Completed, thematically relevant doctoral/PhD studies
•    Research competence and initiative proven through international publications
•    Experience in research management and in leading project staff
•    Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
•    Language skills: Fluent in English; good knowledge of German or commitment to acquire practical German skills as soon as possible
•    Practical Hungarian, Finnish, or Estonian language skills (preferably more than one of these) are a significant advantage
•    Team player and high social/communicative skills
