Job description:
A post-doctoral position (40 hours/week, for 6 years) is to be filled at the Department of Psychology of Development and Education of the Faculty of Psychology. The position is assigned to the Research Unit “Psychology of Ageing” (Head Prof. Dr. Jana Nikitin). We are looking for candidates with a degree in psychology, an outstanding PhD in psychology, research experience in aging psychology and development in adulthood and excellent statistical methodological skills. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly motivated, committed and internationally oriented team. The tasks include scientific research and teaching in the topics of the research area as well as participation in university self-administration.
Your future tasks:
We are looking for a candidate with proven research and teaching experience in the field of psychology of ageing who will complement the existing focus of the department. A particular focus should be on social development in older age. In addition to the content-related fit, sound knowledge in the analysis of longitudinal and experience sampling data is explicitly expected.
The tasks include:
- the independent conception, implementation and evaluation of empirical studies,
- the publication of research results in international journals and their presentation at scientific conferences,
- the independent implementation of courses within the framework of the provisions of the collective agreement,
- the supervision and advising of students,
- active participation in the acquisition of third-party funds, including the independent drafting of funding applications,
- as well as the assumption of tasks in the departmental and faculty administration.
The candidate is expected to be willing to work towards a cumulative habilitation.
This is part of your profile:
- A doctorate/PhD degree in psychology completed
- Proven didactic skills and experience in the implementation of e-learning formats
- Sound knowledge of statistics and the use of statistical programs (e.g. in Matlab, R or SPSS)
- German and English skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively, maintain performance under tight deadlines, and demonstrate a high level of commitment and initiative
Experience in the design, implementation and analysis of longitudinal studies (including experience sampling) and/or experiments/intervention studies as well as relevant publication experience is expected. Excellent knowledge in dealing with complex statistical models and methods and the willingness to support the team in statistical questions are also expected. The candidate should have teaching experience and project management skills. International collaborations are desired.
