Your personal sphere of play:

The Department of Business Decisions and Analytics at the University of Vienna invites applications for the position at the assistant professor level ("University Assistant") in the field of marketing. The contract is fixed-term and limited until 30 September 2031. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Business Administration with focus on Marketing.

Knowledge of German is an asset, but not required.

The candidate should have published articles in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and demonstrated the ability to secure third-party financing.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You build up an independent research profile in the field of marketing, ideally with a focus on empirical generalizations/meta-analyses in advertising and/or pricing.
  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of marketing, ideally with a focus on empirical generalizations/meta-analyses in advertising and/or pricing.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You supervise your students in Marketing.
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality: 

•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in business administration with focus on marketing
•    Outstanding dissertation
•    Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-reviewed journals with a focus on empirical generalizations in advertising and/or pricing
•    Methodological expertise in the area of empirical generalizations/meta-analyses
•    Experience in securing third-party funding from leading funding institutions
•    Excellent knowledge of English (C1) / other foreign language
