Your personal sphere of play:

At the Departement of Analytical Chemistry, Prof. Gerner, we are seeking a post doc with experience in postgenomic bioanalytical techniques for 4 years. The planned research projects will focus on the molecular characterisation of adaptive stress responses shaping inflammatory signal transduction cascades. By means of multi-omics analysis strategies including phospho/proteomics and metabolmics, selected cell culture and animal model systems as well as clinical samples will be investigated.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • Participation in research projects focused on the molecular characterization of adaptive stress responses, the modulation of signalling cascades and resource management and the establishment of chronic inflammation.
  • Supervision and training of team members including PhD and Master students in (phospho)proteomics, lipidomics and cell culture techniques.
  • Support of analysis activities for cooperation projects and clinical analysis.
  • Engaging on the optimization of lipidomics/oxylipin (phospho) proteome analysis methods.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Supporting the application process for projects and securing third-party funds.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality: 

•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject chemistry, preferably in analytical chemistry or equivalent qualification, PhD in chemistry or biomedical research
•    Profound interest for cell culture model systems, signal transduction and bioinformatics 
•    Methodological skills: chromatography, mass spectrometry, basic knowledge of bioanalytical chemistry
•    Expertise on data analysis with R or Python tools. Experience in processing of targeted and untargeted mass spectrometry datasets
•    Demonstrated research competence and initiative through inernational publications in peer-reviewed media, contributions in international conferences in the field of bioanlytical chemistry
•    Didactic skills/experience in internship supervision
•    Excellent knowledge of English (level C1), German (C1) team player and high social/communicative skills
