Your field of activity:
Your future position will be at the Institute of European and Comparative Literature and Language Studies (EVSL), Department of Finno-Ugric Studies, which also includes Hungarian Studies. It is primarily dedicated to the study of Hungarian language, literature and culture in a European context. Our research of historical phenomena and current tendencies and trends of Hungarian literature and culture are based on a transcultural perspective, including not only regional and Central European phenomena but also global literary and cultural trends.
In addition to the Department of Finno-Ugric Studies, where the advertised position is located, the EVSL brings together the Department of Finno-Ugric Studies, the Department of Scandinavian Studies, the Department of Digital Philology and the Department of Dutch Studies. The EVSL stands for interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues at the University of Vienna, the Austrian Academy of Sciences and numerous other national and international partners who cooperate in outstanding research projects.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You build up an independent research profile in the field of Hungarian studies.
- You are involved in research in the area of Hungarian studies. We would especially appreciate an interest in the main research areas of our department.
- You publish internationally and give lectures.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You are working on your habilitation.
- You hold BA- and MA-level courses independently within the scope of your work contract.
- You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration and participate in the science-to-public activities of the department.
- You contribute actively to the development of our international networking and our university-internal cooperations within research and teaching.
Your profile:
• Completed subject-relevant doctoral/PhD studies
• International publication activities, research competence and initiative; experience in editorial activities is appreciated
• Experience in research management, in planning and implementation of research projects
• Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
• Knowledge of university structures and experience with administrative processes is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Hungarian and German, further language skills are an advantage
• Team player and high social/communicative skills
