Your personal sphere of play:

Your future place will be at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Division for Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmacy - Working Group of Prof. Christoph Rademacher. To date, there is no approved, marketed nanomedicine that specifically targets a particular cell subset to deliver therapeutics. With the advent of mRNA technology, the treatment of patients will be revolutionized in the future. A huge impact on human health through targeted drug delivery is expected. This project advances the development of targeted drug delivery systems with the aim of achieving high cell specificity in vitro and in vivo.

 

This position is limited until 09.04.2028.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • In this project, the development of targeted drug delivery systems will be advanced with the aim of achieving high cell specificity in vitro as well as in vivo. Already developed small molecules are exposed on nanoparticles to achieve active targeting of receptors on the target cells. Therefore, the applicant should be familiar with the concept of targeted delivery.
  • The successful candidate should be familiar with cell culture techniques, cultivation of primary cells, design of cell-based assays using flow cytometry and imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge in the design and execution of basic animal experiments, as well as the formulation of lipid-based nanoparticles is an advantage. 
  • We are looking for a motivated person who fits well into an international and multidisciplinary research environment. A good command of English is required. A background in immunology with an interest in targeted drug delivery is desirable, alternatively a solid background in pharmaceutical or biotechnological sciences with a focus on targeted drug delivery and an interest in immunology. Good project and time management skills as well as careful documentation of work are expected..
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality: 

•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies 
•    Doctoral degree, excellent knowledge of immunology, biotechnology or pharmaceutical sciences.  
•    Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
•    IT skills (MS Office, FlowJo)
•    Excellent knowledge of English (C1) written and spoken 
•    Team player and high social/communicative skills
