About the team:

Your future position is in the Research Group Scientific Computing at the Faculty of Computer Science. The research focus of our group is on parallel computing, supercomputing, and performance tuning and optimization of advanced applications. Our team currently consists of 10 scientific and 3 administrative colleagues. We put special emphasis on a flexible and cooperative working environment. Social interactions help facilitate active scientific exchange and foster a good atmosphere, and therefore play a big role in our team.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching and administration, which means:
•    You develop your independent research profile in the field of high performance computing and parallel system.
•    You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the field of parallel and high-performance computing systems, tools, and applications with a special focus on and performance tuning and energy efficiency of advanced applications.
•    You publish internationally and give lectures.
•    You apply for research projects and raise third-party funds.
•    You hold university courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. Here, you supervise your students in courses about parallel computing, computer architecture, programming models and high performance computing.

 

 These are your qualifications: 

 

Must-haves:
•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Computer Science or a closely related field.
•    You have experience in parallel computing, automatic performance tuning and optimization of advanced applications on parallel and distributed systems.
•    An excellent scientific track record proven through international publications in top-class conferences and journals.
•    Didactic skills and experience in e-learning
•    Excellent knowledge of English (C1)

 

Desirable skills:
•    Very good German language skills (B2)
•    Experience in the acquisition of third party funds
•    Experience in research management and in leading project staff
•    You are a team player with high social and good communicative skills.
•    You are reliable and can work autonomously
