Your personal sphere of play:


Your future workplace will be in the research field of Theological Ethics at the Institute for Systematic Theology and Ethics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology. Our approach to ethical issues is characterised by interdisciplinary and international cooperation with a focus on fundamental questions of theological ethics and its history as well as ecumenical ethics, medical and bioethics and intercultural ethics. You contribute to strengthening the ethical areas of sustainability, creation ethics and the ecological transformation of society in our team and to promoting networking in this field.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
•    You build up an independent research profile in the field of ecological ethics.
•    You are involved in research projects.
•    You publish internationally and give lectures.
•    You support the acquisition of third-party funded projects.
•    You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
•    You write a habilitation thesis.
•    You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement (4 semester hours per week).
•    You supervise junior researchers and students.
•    You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
•    You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
•    You support our international networks.

Minimum requirement profile: 

  • Completed studies in Theology and a doctorate/PhD in Catholic Theology in the field of Moral Theology/Ethics or a related discipline
  • Relevant scientific publications 
  • Work experience in a university context: knowledge of university organizational procedures and structures as well as university teaching experience
  • Demonstrable interest in issues relating to the subject area
  • Interest in interdisciplinary work, intercultural openness, team player, social and communication skills
  • Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
  • Advanced IT user skills 
  • High level of written and oral fluency in German
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
     

Additional qualification:

  • Experience in participating in research projects as well as independent publication activity (in journals and recognized publishing houses) in the field of Ethics/Theological Ethics
  • International lecturing and publishing activities
