We are looking or a highly-motivated Technical Assistant to join our team at the Division of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of VIenna.
The 20-hour position should ideally start as soon as possible and is limited to 3 years.

If you enjoy working in a technical field and want to support our group's operations in research, you are welcome to join our group at the Division of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of Vienna.
The Orts' lab is focusing on Drug Discovery by advanced NMR methods, including integrated methods for fast protein-ligand complex structure determination, NMR based drug design, protein allostery, and thermodynamics of protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. We apply these techniques to therapeutically relevant receptors in-house or in collabortion with pharmaceutical industries. (http://bionmr.univie.ac.at)
Your future tasks:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the ongoing projects in the lab
- General laboratory organization (e.g. overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining stocks and equipment)
- Ordering laboratory supplies and handling shipments
- Recombinant protein expression and purification
- Teamwork (supporting and training lab members)
- Active involvement in our team (e.g. attending group meetings, journal clubs, exchanging ideas)
This is part of your personality:
- Basic knowledge in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology
- Hands-on experience in basic molecular biology methods
- Great organization skills, reliability and a sense of responsibility
- Motivation to learn and establish new methods and assays
- Fluency in English and strong communication and social skills
- Good command of German is a plus
