The Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology at the Faculty of Computer Science (University of Vienna) has two vacancies for study assistants starting 01.02.2025. Scope of employment, depending on interest/availability up to a maximum of 20 hours/week. The application deadline is 26.01.2025.
As part of this position, you will work on the project “Open MES Platform for Smart Factory”. In short, the aim of the project is to optimize the use of processes in manufacturing. For this purpose, various internal data sources (process models, execution logs, key figures, etc.) are used and evaluated based on current scientific methods. For example, various process mining methods can be used to optimize processes.

- You will work on an innovative research project
- You will support the project team in researching issues in the field of process mining
- You program prototypical implementations for specific questions
- You support the preparation of internal and external project meetings
- You have the opportunity to write a project-related thesis (e.g. Bachelor's or Master's thesis) (optional)
This is part of your personality:
- Current Bachelor's/Master's study in business informatics, computer science, data science or an equivalent qualification
- Good knowledge of German and English (written and spoken)
- Interest in working in the field of process mining (experience is an advantage, but not necessary)
- Good programming skills (e.g. in Python)
- Good teamwork skills
