Together with a dedicated team of lecturers, you will make a significant contribution to the success of the students. In addition to a well founded professional education, the motivation of students is also particularly important to us. We want to help young people develop an inquisitive and critical way of thinking and thus lay a solid foundation for future professional challenges.
Your workplace:
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in the field of computer-aided and digital teaching in chemistry. The focus of your work will be on the organisation, further development and teaching of courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Chemistry that deal with computer-aided analysis and digital processing of chemical data sets as well as automation in the laboratory. In addition, you will introduce simple digital solutions in laboratory teaching in the Bachelor's programme in Chemistry using digital tools such as Jupyter notebooks to support an interactive, self-directed learning process.
The employment level of 40 hours/week includes an average teaching obligation of 24 semester hours per week of instructive teaching per semester.
Your future tasks:
You are actively involved in teaching, research and administration. This means:
- As a Senior Lecturer, you will be involved in teaching at Bachelor's and Master's level in the area of Chemistry.
- The core tasks include the independent implementation of courses dedicated to the digital processing of large data sets and the automation of everyday laboratory work, as well as teaching in laboratory courses in the Bachelor's programme in Chemistry. The focus here is on instructing students in the evaluation of experimental data and the use of digital methods in a chemical context.
- The ongoing revision of the current state of science as well as further didactic training are expected.
- In addition, the participation in administrative activities, especially in the administration and organisation of teaching, is part of the job description.

Admission requirements:
- Completed Master's/Diploma programme in the field of chemistry
- Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
- Enthusiasm for passing on knowledge and for university teaching
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, use of Jupyter notebooks
- Very good knowledge of German
- You are a team player with good social/communication skills
